What if the Mongols were less interested in the Middle East and instead focused on Europe? No disastrous defeat at Ain Jalut, but more power in the Balkans.

I have always liked the idea of an overtly and strongly catholic horde of steppe nomads- sort of like a parallel to the early Muslim Arabs. Also the Hungarians, as I understand it today, are actually one of those sedentary peoples who never really lost the heart of the steppe and admire steppe nomads, although I'm not sure if this is modern romanticism or has always been the case.

Assuming the Mongols gained control of approximately Austria-Hungary's 1914 territory(minus the Tyrol and Bohemia) would it become a 'Christian' Khanate in its own right, or an extension of the Crimean Khanate?
