IOTL, Marx moved around Europe after his "exile" from Prussia in 1843. He wrote most of his works in France and founded the Communist League there, but was implicated in the 1848 revolutions (which had marked him greatly), and eventually moved to London in 1850 and became the European correspondent for the New York Tribune.
What if, at that moment, for whatever reason Marx decided to migrate to the United States (NYC) to work on the paper directly and moved the operations of the Communist League there?
