Kaiser Frederick III was the German Emperor for only 99 days. He was a known progressive liberal, and didn't have the jingoistic tendencies of his eldest son Wilhelm II. He was diagnosed with throat cancer, and died a few months later. The conduct of his doctors may have worsened the Kaiser's illness, with several complications during his tracheotomy.

What if the Kaiser did not die of throat cancer, or better yet, never has the cancer at all? His father reigned until he was 90, and his son lived until he was 80. With this in mind, Frederick III may reign into his 70's or 80's.

With a 20 year long reign, what could Frederick III accomplish? Could he reform the Empire into the British model he so admired? It is unlikely the naval arms race would ensue between Germany and Britain, and relations between the two could become much friendlier than OTL. Could this lead to an Anglo-German Alliance?
