Justinian survived despite fucking up big time.

Theodora was definitely able to have child but Justinian wasn’t. Something probably related to a disease he caught when he was young. He also married Theodora quite late thanks to Lupicina and 15 years later he caught the plague that worsened things. Change these things and then you can probably have a son.

Well his conquests were well done, but they emptied his coffers and he was left open to perisa's intervention. And he honestly overextended the empire- conquests of either italy or N.Africa alone would've cemented him a great legacy and enough money to handle the next crisis. But doing both, and the hagia sophia after rebuilding constantinople? a bit crazy
