WI Jose Laurel elected as Philippine President, 1949?

It is generally acknowledged that Jose Laurel was the real victor of that election and only massive vote-buying by the Quirino-mob machine changed the result. Laurel plotted a coup until the Embassy threatened to call in the 7th Fleet and he conceded, but continued to call the goonda Quirino the "squatter in Malacanang". Let's say that Laurel points out the Quirinos' own association with the occupation regime (everyone was tainted, including Roxas, Marcos and Aquino's father headed the Japanese front party BALIKPANAN in the puppet National Assembly) and runs a better campaign, winning. What are the effects of seeing the Philippine Laval return to power in SE Asia, the Philippines and the US? MacArthur despised the man and threatened to cut off all aid if he won, but he wouldn't do that lest he get sacked by Truman. It would probably be almost as much a shocker as Konoe (had he lived) becoming an LDP PM in the '50s.
