WI:John Lackland marries Constance of Sicily

What if John Lackland married Constance of Sicily as an exchange for Joan of Sicily marrying the King of Sicily, what if the King of Sicily still dies without a surviving heir would John Lackland claim Sicily?

If John Lackland claims Sicily what would be its effects on the history of England and the Angevin Empire?

When exactly are you positing this?

When he's King? Just after he fails to be crowned King of Ireland? While he's regent for his hostaged brother King Richard?

The POD is 1170-1180's during the time Joanna of England married the King of Sicily..

What does she bring with her? John's landless at this point - hence the move to make him King of Ireland.

Assuming OTL then John will begin scheming to become King of Sicily through his wife, his relations with his brother will improve, and his nephew may end up King of England, Duke of Brittany, though the status of Normandy and Aquitaine may likely end in Philip and John's favour.

I can't see John's plotting going over well with his brothers and mother. Remember his sister Joan would be Queen of Sicily, as wife of William II around this time. It might just end up backfiring on John.
