That's not that uncommon. I've got brown hair and there's a lot of red and blond hair in my beard, especially if I let it grow too much.Though no pictures exist to my knowledge, Jack did write in a letter home in '43 that on duty he had grown a red beard, of all things, due to lack of razors presumably.
