Jesse Ed Davis played with Taj Mahal's band, & John Lennon considered him one of the best he'd ever heard. He played the guitar solo on Jackson Browne's "Doctor, My Eyes", cold, in one take.
He got hooked on heroin during a tour with Rod Stewart & Faces.
So, what would it take for him not to go on that tour?
