WI: Japan devolped a super bug

You always see alternate timelines and what ifs about whether or not Germany (or even Japan) got the bomb before America while completely ignoring the other two types of WMDs despite the fact that Japan had one of the most advanced biological weapons departments in the world at the time. I think that a super bug is far far more plausible than a nuke and possibly far deadlier. So lets say while doing some of thier expirements unit 731 manages to create a super bug. Whether it be by accident or on purpose doesnt matter. The discovery happens in late 1943. It takes them over a year to properly study, weoponize and create a vaccine on the off chance it breaks out or makes its way back to Japan once deployed. A operation cherry blossoms at night esque operation occurs late 44 and there 3 carrier subs pop up off the coast of san diego. The subs launch there planes and quickly resubmerge ands begin heading back to Japan. For the pilots they know its a one way trip. All the planes are shot down in short order of course, San Diego is a major naval base and it had a fuckton of AA during ww2 but at least one of the aircraft managed to release its special ordnance before beong shot down. American authoritys quickly realize that the ordnance was not a normal bomb and the CDC immediately begin quarantine. But they dont quite realize how bad the virus the japanese stumbled upon really us and it manages to escape the initial quarintine. By the end of the month over 50,000 San Diegoers are dead and just over half the city is infected with thousands more dying each day. The rest of California isnt fairing much better and the virus has begun to pop up in the surrounding states.

The virus is as infectious as even the most infectious forms of measles and has a killing potential rivaling that of even the worst of historys plagues.

How does this affect the outcome of the war

The US and the UK developed bioweapons programs during the war, guess what happens to the Japanese then?

amongst other things

Some people believe that it's no coincidence that part of Japans crop failures in 1946 were related to US Bioweapon research during the war, with Rice Blast and Wheat Rust planned for Japan, Atomic weapon deployment scuttled a lot of other programs.

Sounds like something similar that happened in Europe during the war

If this was true don't you think we would have learned about it by now? It's hard to believe it would have been kept secret so long.

You would think so, but then only recently I think most everything for WWI was declassified, so maybe I'll live long enough to see the 99 year expire for WWII

Regardless of feasibility of this TL I would like to see an Indiana Jones movie where Indiana tries to prevent a Japanese expedition from catching Ebola/Marburg/Hollywooditis infected apes...
