WI: James, Duke of Girona, son of John I of Aragon, survives?

James, Duke of Girona and Count of Cervera, was the eldest child of King John I of Aragon and his second wife, Yolande of Bar and, as you can see from this list (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_I_of_Aragon#Family_and_children), the only son of John I to live for more than three months. Born in 1382, died in 1388. What if he had lived? He would have beem 14 years old at his father's OTL death in 1396, although that hunting accident could have been avoided.

If things go relatively well, it may mean a continued presence of the House of Barcelona on the thrones of Aragon, Sicily and Sardinia instead of the House of Trastamara.

I have a few candidates for whom he could marry, in line with John's Franophile tendencies:

1. Joan, eldest daughter of King Charles III of Navarre (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joan,_Heiress_of_Navarre)
2. Blanche, Joan of Navarre's younger sister and OTL Queen of Navarre (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blanche_I_of_Navarre), if Joan is still married to John, Count of Foix.
3. Isabella of Valois (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isabella_of_Valois), OTL second wife of King Richard II of England.

Any thoughts?

Well, if James survives to get an man after his father's death under the regency of his uncle Martin, he may be a quite interesting character. Is he going to be like his father, that is, prone to waste money keeping a luxurious court? Is he going to do anything valuable at all, unlike his father? Perhaps being 14 years old he's too old to be any different from his dad... but.

John himself had been at odds with his father, Peter IV, who came quite close to loose his temper with his heir because he was too Francophile for his taste and had ideas of his own that Peter could not tolerate, as marrying the lady of his (John's) liking. Perhaps James is going to be like that and be at odds with his father (so hurrah!!!!) or perhaps be like him, good for nothing (oh shit, we're screwed).

It would be lovely if he turned into an Aragonese version of Edward III (but for the end), that after a quite useless father (sodomies aside), came to do great things for his kingdom (let's forget that he did too much and the English economy was not fully up to the task).

And, it goes without saying, his father would demand him to marry a French princess, of course. Would James abide with that?
