Hey Guys,

In 1850 Narciso López attempted to gain the support of both Jefferson Davis (then Senator from Mississippi) and Robert E. Lee to help him in filibustering Cuba from Spanish rule. He in fact asked Davis first who declined and advised he ask Lee for help. But what if J. Davis had accepted López's offer and then asked Lee to join them, who accepts after he realizes Davis is joining the filibustering?

How would this filibustering go? Would it fail as per OTL? IOTL López took 600 men, but with the support of Davis and Lee could we see this number increase? With the help of two experienced and good military personnel could we see some success in Cuba? If so might a whole new revolution begin in which the revolutionaries would have the help Davis and Lee?

If such a revolution does go ahead if López is killed in the conflict could we see either Davis or Lee try and get control of a post-war Cuba? Would they try and convince the US government to annex, and could they in fact convince them?

If the Revolution were a failure what would happen to Davis and Lee afterwards? Would they simply go back to the US and history wouldn't be overly changed? Or could we see the Spanish exact some punishment on them? If this occurs what would be the future concerning the Confederate States/Civil War?
