WI: in 1946, "Cleavage" is not invented by Hollywood

The way I see it, the absence of that word wouldn't have much of an impact really. I'm sure someone else would come along with an equivalent term after a while, and you don't really need a specific word to reference a distinct concept. It helps, but it's not a definite requirement.
 
My geology professor always handled it like this:

"Today we're talking about cleavage and fracture."

*inevitable giggling*

"Yeah, fracture's a funny word."
