WI Ike's WHCS doesn't get a fur coat?

In 1958, Eisenhower's White House Chief of Staff, Sherman Adams, resigned after it was revealed he had accepted an expensive vicuña overcoat and oriental rug from Bernard Goldfine, a Boston textile manufacturer who was being investigated for Federal Trade Commission violations.

What if he had never accepted these gifts, and gone on to serve as Chief of Staff for the duration of Ike's presidency?

Didn't Adams serve as chief of staff for most of Ike's presidency anyway?

I really don't see much difference is he stays on for the final two years or not. Ike is still a lame duck after his last midterms and all two-term presidencies seem to wind down during the last few years in office.

The only change I can even guess at is with Nixon's 1960 campaign and whether Adams would have some effect on it for good or bad. Rogue Beaver would most likely have an answer for that though.

Adams hated Nixon and tried to obstruct him when he was acting POTUS (for all intents and purposes) during Ike's 2 strokes, but I don't see him playing a role in '60.

So no real change from the OTL where Nixon kept the sitting administration at arm's length during the campaign? While an Adams who is sill chief of staff won't help Nixon, he won't work against him either?
