WI) If YF-23 was chosen over YF-22

During 1990s US needed a stealth fighter. Northrop entered competition with YF-23, and Lockheed Martin with YF-22. If USAF choose stealth over cost and picked YF-23, how this will affect America's defense system?

Very, very, little. The only change is if butterflies lead to a higher-intensity air war, and even then the F-22 would probably have done just as well.

Ok.. Now I begin to wonder.. how this will lead to changes in aviation development history?

Maybe the Navy orders the F-22 to replace the F-14's that are leaving service.

By the time the F -14s are leaving service, the fly off for the ATF was long done and the F 22 wouldn't exist, unless you change the USNs plans regarding the Superhornet and the carrier mix I would think.

Again, Virtually nothing. Requirements for JSF will be the same, requirements for 6th gen will be the same. Nothing really changes overall exccept that the F-23 becomes the plane that gets its production cancelled early in favour of the F-35.

I was thinking the Navy see's it and goes that make a good carrier plane.

I recently searched for NATF (Naval ATF, read, naval F-22 or F-23). I expected to find a navalized F-22 that is, 2000 pounds heavier with the usual carrier landing stuff (beefed up landing gear + tailhook). To my great shock, I learned that the NATF was to be a VG derivative of the F-22, that is, a much different plane, essentially new.
The F-23 wouldn't be any better. These birds were just too big for a carrier, even a Nimitz.

this said, the F-23 looks better than the F-22.

The F-23 is probably as big of a lemon as the F35 is turning out to be. It sacrificed performance for stealth, while the F22 sacrificed stealth for performance. What is often forgotten is that the ATF was supposed to be the King of aircombat, unbeatable at long and short ranges. The F22 has a (then new, now challenged by Su-30 family) thrust vectoring capability that make in the superior of any non Flanker aircraft in the WVR role. The F23 would not have this.
