WI: Hunter S. Thompson's Twitter Feed

I noticed that Hunter S. Thompson killed himself right before the advent of Social Media. Had he known about Facebook, Twitter, Obama, etc. I doubt that he would have killed himself and probably would have stuck around to see how things unfolded.

I wonder what the man's Twitter feed would have looked like.

Hunter killed himself because of depression, not because of new frontiers.

Ever since the '68 convention, hunter kept his politics close to his heart; he saw himself as fighting the fight against the forces of evil that everyone who had the means to had long since given up. When bush won re-election, it destroyed him. He saw those forces winning at long last.

given the state of things I can't help but feel he wasn't exactly wrong.

as for the topic itself, I think he might feel slightly cautiously hopeful about obama's election initially and then sour considerably once he realizes how little the difference between him and the establishment GOP there is. The Tea party and their antics might either send him hurtling into greater despair and cause him to commit suicide later than historically or give him greater fuel to go on.

yeah if I'm gonna be honest he'd probably only feel even worse about things now.

He strikes me as a man who would kill himself if he had nothing to complain about either.

Hunter had that particular experience with Clinton. Didn't like the man at all. Of course, that was part of the problem; hunter voted liberal his whole life, but for him to like a politician, he needed to have that earnest hopelessness that would prevent any real chance at getting into power. Hunter never trusted the powerful once the Kennedy's died.

Hunters my favorite writer BTW.
