WI: Huns destroyed before Attilla?

Most likely he'd be dead, as if we have a PoD near enough that Attila may be born, he'd be the son of a king. If you want to destroy the Huns, killing the king and his family is likely.

Unless you take Attila hostage, raising him as a Roman. That... having Attila as a General raised by the Romans, but aware of Hunnic battle strategy either makes him a more terrifying scourge of Rome (if he goes rogue), or the Bane of the Sassanids if he is a loyal Roman General.

Saves the west

No Hunnic Empire means a heavily fractured group of barbarians. Normally, the Huns absorbed all of these tribes but without Hunnic unification, these tribes would just fight each other and there would be more strings to pull for the Romans, especially in the east.

Without driven out by the huns, the Ostrogoth Empire could maintain in the East.
