WI: Hungary remained communist?

In this scenario, even as the tidal wave of democracy is weeping away the communist regimes of the other Eastern European nations, the MSZMP is able to hold onto to power, through what can only be described as a "communist miracle". With the HPR intact, how does this change the political landscape of eastern Europe?

Are you implying that Kádár is replaced by a Stalinist instead of a reformer as per OTL? Because, with Hungary being one of the first dominoes to fall IOTL, that would change the history of what you call "the tidal wave of democracy" quite a lot, and possibly in very bad ways. In particular, I'm not sure whether the Berlin Wall still falls. Or whether we see civil war not just in Hungary, but also in the GDR, Romania, even in the Soviet Union itself with an earlier August Coup.
