WI Hitler had been convicted of perjury following the Tanzpalast Eden Trial in 1931

In the September 2011 issue of BBC History Magazine there is a really interesting two-page article about Hans Litten and his interrogation of Hitler in that trial on 8 May 1931. Here is information about Litten: http://www.absoluteastronomy.com/topics/Hans_Litten. According to the History Magazine article if as result of his interrogation of Hitler, Litten had been able to charge him with perjury, which "could lead to a prison sentence or, at the very least, the deportation of Hitler back to Austria." However the judge stopped the interrogation.

If Hitler had been convicted of perjury and imprisoned, or deported back to Austria, what would have been the consequences for Germany and later Europe and the world?

Interesting - I'd never heard of this. Would Hitler have obeyed any deportation order? IIRC he refused to return to Austria in 1914 to obey his call-up papers from there, and wasn't there the question of if he was eligible to vote in Germany at all? I need to get out a few books, hold my nose and read about that vile little man.

Dr. Forster & Ernst Hanfstaengl

Yes, quite interesting. Presently not normally giving comment to threads
not already being followed, but I do encourage you to continue with
the topic. Another couple for you, A) a guy that apparently gave the
idea to Hitler to save the German state, 100% Jewish! (Schicklgruber
was gassed and recooperating, so the doc took tough love on the PTSD
soldier.) Or B) that the husband and wife that practically adopted Dolphy,
resting his head after speeches on her lap, in 1937 escaped after
threatened to be dropped over enemy ground as a practical joke enjoyed
by the adopted son. He ended up in the White House, telling his
former classmate at Harvard by name of FDR what was going on in
Germany. There are other such personalities and situations about
the Nazis, but this will be enough to get you going. Good Luck.

Uhm, that did not go through right. Apparently it did happen and
has the ring of truth, but is often disputed including his background.
Read for yourself and decide. German Wikipedia has an entry,
and press the googled translate version.

Most Wiemar republic judges were right-wing traditionalists (often ex military officers) who began their careers under the kaiser. Ergo the judge for this trial was probably biased against convicting Hitler. Wiemar did not last long enough to develop a relatively impartial, democratic judiciary.
