WI Hitler commits suicide 1931

After the suicide of his niece and mistress Geli Raubal, Hitler threatened to commit suicude himself but was talked out of it. WI he wasn't talked out of it and put a bullet to his head in 1931?

We have a strong Nazi party but who will take over? Will the Nazis ever be able to take power in Germany?

No Hitler, no Nazi Party. From its beginning to its end, Hitler's was the party's driving force.

National Socialism itself was just a crude idea containing socialist elements as well as völkische and nationalistic ones. It was not the ideology itself that attracted the voters, it was the "man with the new idea".

With Hitler's death, National Socialism died as an existing political idea IOTL and so will it ITTL.

The Nazi party was formed in 1919 and adopted the tilted swastika as its symbol in the 1920's. Without Hitler, the party might have lost its steam and faded into old politics.

We would like to think Germany, like the U.S., would elect leaders to bring about a European New Deal. In OTL, there were Jewish businessmen who thought Nazi anti-Semitism could be obscured to the point that they wanted to join the party! Without Hitler, could the Nazis have become a centrist, mainstream party?

The party would most likely dissolve into several splinter groups, since the person to hold it all together is gone.

The Strasser brothers would certainly lead one of these parties which would emerge from the 'old' NSDAP, a party which would focus more on the socialist viewpoint of national socialism.
