WI: Henry VIII dies shortly before his father

By a few months or so- long enough that Henry VII knows about it but not enough time for Henry VII to remarry and try to sire heirs.

So...
A) Who would Henry VII want to succeed him?
B) Would anyone care who Henry wanted/who would actually succeed?

Of the people with some degree of royal blood...

There's Henry's two daughters- Margaret, who's been in Scotland married to James IV since 1503 and the unmarried 13-ish Mary.

Of the daughters of Edward IV there's...

1) Catherine, whose husband William Courtenay is currently imprisoned (for allegedly plotting with the Yorkist de la Poles). Her father-in-law the Earl of Devon is still around (just- he died a month after Henry IOTL) and her son is 11-13-ish.
2) Anne, married to Thomas Howard (IOTL 3rd Duke of Norfolk). Her father-in-law the Earl of Surrey is still around. However, Anne is 34 and has no living issue.
3) Bridget, a nun.

Elsewhere, there's...

1) Edmund de la Pole, Earl of Suffolk and his brother William, both imprisoned.
2) Their brother Richard, currently floating about the continent.
3) The widowed Margaret Pole (OTL Countess of Salisbury), daughter of the Duke of Clarence, whose eldest son Henry (OTL Baron Montagu) is 14-17.
4) Anne St. Leger (granddaughter of Richard Duke of York by his daughter Anne), married to George Manners (progenitors of the later Earls and Dukes of Rutland).
5) Edward Stafford, Duke of Northumberland. Was ultimately executed IOTL in 1521 for supposedly harbouring royal pretensions. His eldest son is 8-ish, and he has the Earl of Northumberland and the Baron Fitzwalter as brothers-in-law.

Would Henry want one of his daughters to succeed him?

Is there a mad scramble to wed Mary and claim the throne?

Do the Yorkist de la Poles have any chance?

Do we see some weird compromise where either Henry Pole or Henry Courtenay are wed to Princess Mary to form some composite regime?

Does war break out if someone suggests James IV rules jure uxoris and that his son with Margaret inherits the throne in his own right?

Queen Margaret of Scotland as the eldest surviving child of King Henry VII becomes Queen of England with James IV has King Consort and their son inheriting as King of England and Scotland.

Depends on lots of things
few points: Does Henry VII live long enough after his son's death to impress on his council that he wants his daughter Margaret to succeed (even if it means tolerating James IV), do the nobles say yes and promptly look for alternatives, Henry VII ruled not be hereditary right but by conquest so technically all previous claims had become rather irrelevant.
The most likely power broker and claimant is Edward Stafford 3rd Duke of Buckingham - his son Henry is only six and his three daughters are all still unmarried which gives him plenty of opportunity to tie himself with other families who might fall in line (his claim is weak but his is very wealthy) - an obvious solution is to betroth his son to Mary Tudor (who is only four or five years older than Henry Stafford) and assume the King of Scots can be defeated in battle.
Margaret Pole was loyal to the Tudor's I can't see her countenancing open rebellion (she was close to Katherine of Aragon and Margaret Beaufort) - she is also not that wealthy (Henry VIII restored her to the Salisbury lands he still held after his accession) and won't be able to buy support.
Catherine of York's son Henry is again the right age to marry Mary but her husband's family are also not particularly powerful - however she remained in royal favour despite her husband's fall and had been close to her late sister Queen Elizabeth of York. A match between her son and Mary could be arranged speedily if some on the council prefer that option. The de la Pole's are skint with a very weak claim - but might attract support from a foreign power wanting to cause problems for England (unlikely to succeed though).

Don't forget Margaret Beaufort is still alive just and was still influential - she is almost certainly going to be named regent by her son if he dies before his heir is of age. Most likely Henry dies, Henry VII opts to name Margaret Queen of Scots as his heir and entrusts the realm until her arrival to his aged mother. Council disagree after his death and factions form - Margaret Beaufort holds up with her granddaughter Mary - rebellion by some noble against the Scots succession and so.
Outcome
King Edward VI (Edward Stafford Duke of Buckingham), Henry Prince of Wales betrothed to the Princess Mary Tudor - their children will unite all the main lines from Edward III - Beaufort, Tudor and York descended from four of Edward III's sons)
Margaret of Scotland is proclaimed Queen of England by her husband and Scotland prepares to invade with French support - defeated James limps home and the House of Stewart continue to claim the English throne. He wins and Edward the usurper ends up on the block - his son is detained and Margaret becomes Queen refusing her husband the English crown causes marital disharmony. The Queen's sister Mary is promptly dispatched to a foreign realm.
