WI: Henry VII dies in 1501?

Was he really being groomed to be in the Church? Once I questioned it here and I was informed that there was no evidence of it, and the only source declaring it was written in the 17th century. Also, that even before Arthur's death there were already negotiations to marry him to Eleanor of Austria, which indicates that he wouldn't be part of the clergy.

It seems unlikely he was being groomed for a life in the church, given that (as you point out) before Arthur's death tentative negotiations were being made to marry him off to other European women, which you don't tend to do for Bishops. His education shows more of the influence of his grandmother (famously pious), than any future career. And Henry VII didn't have so many sons that he could really afford to pack one off to a life in the church - he needed a spare until at least Arthur could produce an heir.
