WI:Henry II or Richard I invaded France with the aim of conquering it?

So what would happen if either of two Kings got fed up with the King of France's constant meddling and actually invaded the rest of France with the aim of conquering it or at the very least conquering Ille de France to cripple the French King?

Henry II seems more plausible, you just need to butterfly aay the consistent conflicts between the father and his sons.

That said, Richard II could possibly do it, but by the time he did in OTL, most of his domains had kinda disappeared. And after supporting his campaign/crusade, i think many people would be unwilling, especially in England.

Costs prohibit either

King to undertake a campaign of that magnitude they would be in penury before Paris!

It's not that far from Normandy to Paris, that's why I propose in the event of a campaign, they cripple the King of France by taking Ille de France first. They need not to take the whole thing in one go,but bits and pieces at a time.

All the other French Lords would oppose them and they'd be crushed.
It's not like the French King is doing anything illegal or subordinate that the other French nobles could claim and therefore back the Duke of Normandy/Aquitaine

Why would Henry or Richard need the support of other French nobles and why would they be crushed? The Angevins controls half of France on top of England. In any likely event, the French will probably be heavily outnumbered, even if the other French nobles rally around their king.

Except the "half of France" than the Angevins "control" is actually in the hand of other French nobles and they'd need a pretty good reason to back the complete overthrow of the French monarchy.
The Plantagenets would in my opinion be outnumbered by rebellions before they can actually outnumber loyal forces. :)

a) they're going up against their lawful sovereign
b) the Angevins don't actually have control they just sit nearly at the top the pyramid of feudal obligations for those areas (guess who sits above them...)
c) the French would not be outnumbered because the French King will allow the French nobles under Richard/Henry permission to refuse the call to arms (that was part of the problem with the "meddling" anyway as lords can call upon their lord's lord

Yet,they didn't refuse Henry or Richard's call to arms whenever the two or their predecessors 'rebelled' or outright attacked the French King.

Well technically it would remain a French king. For example Henry II was much more Franch than anything else (and even sayins "french" or "english" is a little bit strange as the state does not really exist the way we define it today).

Henry II is French born, French raised, was speaking French and spent a significant part of his life in France (Normandy and so on).
