From what I have read Eleanor survived to ripe 80's what if Henry II survives up to 1210, if Richard still dies as OTL, who will succeed Henry II?
What will happen to both Arthur and John?
What will happen to both Arthur and John?
I think he can survive but weak..Unsurprisingly, Henry's wealth was really put in check by the troubles of his reign, at the point his sons' endless revolts more or less directly lead him to the grave. I really don't think he would have survived to his 80's, regardless of another ulcer, a stroke or anything : the guy may have been litterally stressed to death.
You're right, but wouldn't, in this case, Richard ending up by acting even more rebellious, maybe to the point of fighting John directly?I think he can survive but weak..
Health, you mean? You're right, but wouldn't, in this case, Richard ending up by acting even more rebellious, maybe to the point of fighting John directly?
I'm not sure it would do wonders for his wealth then.
Yes, indeed. Altough this situation is likely to be ressource-costly too.Health, you mean?
I suppose.Yes, indeed. Altough this situation is likely to be ressource-costly too.
I think this situation of Henry II surviving to 1210, Arthur will succeed as King instead of John..
I think the two will fight a disputed succession, I think Arthur has an edge of having his territory, Brittany near England..at least at this point Arthur is in 20's rather than in early teens..Why? Some sources seem to think John was his favourite. It's possible he'd prefer Arthur at times; things were pretty fluid. But there wasn't any kind of formalized system, really. Since the Conquest primogeniture was 0-4.
