WI: Hendrix in the 70s and beyond?

If Jimi Hendrix had lived, how do you see his music progressing? I can see him releasing 1 or 2 more guitar rock albums before trying his hand at more diverse stuff (blues, world music, experimental music, heck, maybe even working with Zappa, butterflying steve vai away in the process).

I've heard grabs from the record he was working on at his death, they sound a little like the work of Sly and the Family Stone.

He was moving away from guitar rock to funk. It would be interesting to listen to him live until the era of the purple one.

I know that he was going to actually use a Big Muff. I'm a bit of a gear whore and the pedals he was using when he died were basically all prototypes and adjusted overdrives circuit-bent to do nearly what he wanted.
The Big Muff was closely designed off of one of those, except that it was made to last longer.

Had he used the Big Muff, then that means that at least part of his sound would have been fuzzier, and he could've done alot of the sounds he did before without the volume or in different orders with the pedals.
