WI: Hector killed Achilles

Better be in ASB, as we can't confirm that these two existed. Unless you want to assume that Poseidon also existed. Anyway, likely not much changes, unless you kill Odsseyeus--there's only so much one man can do, if we try and play realism.

sorry, wrong forum

But, while we're here, eliminate the gods from this (I realize they are a major part of the story) and look at it from a more historical viewpoint, and play along with Hector and Achilles existing as the Illiad portrays them. What would happen?

I think Achilles is going to kill Agamemnon in book 1 for not giving him his prize with no Athene there to intervene. And with that death who knows where this leads.

No gods? I confess my initial reaction was "NO GODS!?! " But I remembered that I was happy to accept that Brad Pitt film without supernatural trappings. So how do you plan this story? I don't think it fits either into ASB (as it would with gods) or pre-1900 (as it would as a straight story) if you run it without gods, because you can't have Homeric epic without gods. Without my brain frying, anyway. ;) So I recommend the Writers' forum.
