WI Harvey Milk not murdered?

Well, I think if he lived through the 80's, it would be interesting to see what role he plays during the AIDS pandemic. Hopefully he wouldn't get AIDS himself, but I think regardless he would still fight for the Queer Community to have the right to be treated. Really, the way some doctors acted was awful.

It seems to me he'd face off against Feinstein in the Dem primary, who was Moscone's 2IC and was part of the Council's centrist bloc in opposition to Moscone.

Milk was a major national name, he and Feinstein didn't like each other, Feinstein had an odd objection to Leather Daddies, so was always Lukewarm on gay rights, so I think Milk would of run against her for Mayor, he wasn't a big winner but he an Moscone ally and the gays where much more organized, any ways the Cops were gunning for Milk and Moscone......

Wow, coming on the heels of a mayoral assassination, that could make 1979 one nasty election.

Any plausibility Feinstein or Milk would look to get around something like this with an agreement or something?

I thought I ran through this scenario already in another thread. All I can say is stay tuned to that thread for more of my thoughts on that subject. ;)

He apparently was a very committed follower of Jim Jones, so there's a real possibility he goes to Jonestown and drinks the Kool-Aid. Presumably he's quite a bit less of an icon for the gay community.

Flavor Aid.

Well yes, but to be fair, your scenario was Feinstein, Milk, and Moscone facing off in a three way race (;)) here we're talking about those two going at it in the year following the third's assassination. That kind of creates an aura where neither of them come off good...

unlikely, Milk wasn't the type to give up on something, even loosing would be a win for him, and having lost Sliver and the Mayor will drive him to win, for him its the fight for his life, Milk was sure he was going to die before he was 50, the death of two close friends in that manor will drive him

Feinstein again was deeply freaked out by the Fringe of the gay moment (she had strange obsession with leather daddies) and if Milk and the Mayor hadn't been killed Feinstein's political life would likely been over, something she knows, for her its the fight for her political life against an annoying gay up start (who's likely a front for gay leather daddies taking over San Fran)
