WI: Guderian/ Killed In 1934

One a bright summer day in July 1934, Heinz Guderian (then a Colonel) is walking down the street when a car driven by a Guderian-hating member of AH.Com swerves onto the sidewalk and kills him instantly.

What would happen next? Would German land doctrine be appreciably changed? And what knock-off effects would there be on the Second World War?

No not really a lot of guderians ideas were merely logical developments of the ideas of Von Seeckt (sp?) and were an idea whose time had come in the wehrmacht. Although that said in eliminating guderian does eliminate one the best publicist's the panzer army had so maybe we see tanks relegated to a more subordinate role like the more conservative generals wanted and perhaps less of a "blitzkrieg spirit"

by 1934 the chain of events that created german panzer doctrine was already pretty much coming together anyway

Guderian would be replaced by Nehring who was a competent enough person; albeit not a hardcore nazi who could necessarily get the love for his service that Guderian was able to achieve

does that make a difference and make Beck's ideas about wanting to penny packet the armor to the infantry formations hold sway?

IMO probably not; Hitler was highly impressed by massed power plus Fritsch was into creating brigades and divisions anyway along with a decent amount of the general staff

these sorts of arguments about how to allocated armored strength where being had in Moscow and Paris as well; everyone ended up in the same place by 1939 anyway
