WI: Greater Gran Colombia

Up until the Conquest of Bolivia/Upper Peru it seems things were going sort of okay for Gran Colombia.

What if San Martin had gotten to Upper Peru first and Bolivia instead returned from Lima to Bogota with Peru becoming integrated into Bolivia? Later on, Santo Domingo joins the Republic (as attempted OTL).

Then, before he can become too domineering, Bolivar drops dead (catches a cold and falls off his horse?) and a Confederal Government is established in Gran Colombia

Ultimately the country's boundaries are set at the Purus and Madeira Rivers as well, giving the country much of the Amazon.

I did not know that Gran Colombia had conquered upper Peru nor that the Dominican Republic sought to unite with it.

Bolivar marched into Upper Peru and the folks there proceeded to name their country after him (I think).

It wasn't so much that Gran Colombia had invaded Upper Peru though, as it was that the rebels invited him in.

It might have been interesting/more manageable, had OTL Peru joined Gran & OTL Bolivia joined Argentina. But how to do that I know not.
