WI Giovanni de Medici never became a Cardinal?

Around 1489 Pope Innocent VIII married his elder son Franceshetto to Madalena de Medici, the natural daughter of Lorenzo de Medici, who in return obtained the cardinal's hat for his thirteen-year-old son Giovanni, later Pope Leo X...
WI Innocent VIII doesnt marry his son with Madalena? No Cardinalate for Giovanni de Medici and he cannot be elected Pope in 1513...
How is History altered if Pope Leo X is eliminated that way? Who would have been elected in his place? And how this alternate Pope deals with Luther?

I'm afraid that any of the other likely candidates were just the same as Giovanni, the scions of Italy's leading families whose loyalty was to themselves and their family, and the Papacy was just a vehicle to achieve familial aims.

I would say that to really change what happens in German with Luther you need to change up the politics in Germany, with say Charles V not succeeding in Spain, or Francis I becoming the HRE instead of Charles V. Something drastic that would really affect the way balance of German politics.
