WI Germany wins WWI but gives up AL.

In OTL Ludendorff proposed a peace treaty that didn't went so far, of which Germany would install a hohenzollern in power of Belgium but at the same time it would hand over AL to France to end WWI, this was after the BL treaty, but made me wonder some things. First of all, usually to have Germany win WWI we simple remove the US from the conflict and the germans eventually break the entente, however as some people noted in discussions, there is also the possibility of a bloody stalemate to end the conflict with the entente still managing to hold the germans without american support. Let's say that this happens, could some form of Ludendorff plan to work? The germans could ask the french government to demilitarize the AL and to respect the germans there in exange for the province.

First do you have a source providing details of that offer? Secondly the USA entered the war before the B-L Treaty was signed and thirdly there is no way the British will accept German control of Belgium. Lastly the French are not going to agree to a deal that basically hands them Lorraine while letting the Germans retreat and gear up for a further round of warfare after they've assimilated their conquests in the east.

1- None, I made a thread about WWI and someone commented that about this proposition
2- Yeah, but I didn't said that the PoD is the BL pact, the PoD is the USA doesn't joining the war for some reason. Belgium is not needed to as I said "some form of the plan", not the exact idea
3- Then the war continues forever even without american support?

The thing is in all the material I have read I have never heard of any such proposition by Ludendorff, it sounds like something that might have been dreamed up in the Autumn of 1918 when the Germans were losing, but I can't see it getting past Hindenburg, and Ludendorff was so erratic by that stage he would probably change his mind the next day. Basically at any point where Germany thinks they can win they won't make such an offer and if it looks like they are going to lose the Entente won't accept it.

Right, thank you.

Regardless any peace where Germany only loses AL but picks up other stuff is worth pursuing. After the 1914 rush fails. It's the best Germany can do. With Russia out at the end of 17. It should have been offered.

Isnt the simplest that peace is offered after BL. The Germans gaining much more in the east than AL.
Guess a good 1916 pod is to plan that exactly. Then the decision is taken before the CPs become overconfident
