WI Germans retreat?

What if, rather than holding against the Kerensky Offensive in July 1917, the Germans had been overwhelmed by Russian numbers and artillery just like the Austro-Hungarians? What could have happened?

This would certainly have given Kerensky the victory his government desperately needed, and would have made Brusilov even more popular and famous.

Seriously, no one is interested in a possible stabilization of the Russian Republic and a German defeat on the Eastern Front?

I just don't think it's possible. To the Germans the Russian Front was getting easier everyday with more Russian troops deserting everyday and artillery fire became less frequent (with drastically fewer rounds).

The Russian army simply didn't have the numbers, ammunition, food, railway cars, and loyalty to break the now veteran German lines.

Germany needed to win in Russia, they had been willing to sue for peace earlier, but now they found little in their way to stop them. In a time when millions of men have died the relative success of the eastern front was welcome news to people.

And Germany had already picked up on Brusilovs tactics. His greatest success was against the AustroHungarians who were without a doubt wooped at first. However, once German troops began to enter the offensive became less and less successful.

Let me ask you this: what if, instead of using the tried-and-true Russian concentrated attack as he did, Brusilov had instead used the tactics he had used in the Brusilov Offensive?
