WI: German WWII Surrender?

Ok so it's been a while, I was just thinking about this one. I know it would take somw serious ASBs maybe, but what would have happened if the Allies and Stalin had decided give conditional surrender to Nazi Germany before a their forces had stepped too-far into Germany?... just wondering

Not while Hitler is alive- any surrender would involve handing Hitler over for trial, so he wouldn't allow it.
Of course, if they let it be widely known that the Germans could have a return to something resembling 1937 borders if they got rid of Hitler, but would be destroyed IOTL or as per Morgenthau otherwise, then support for a coup would increase.
Add amnesty for all Heer commanders if they assisted in bringing the SS to justice? Recipe for a Nazi civil war, right there!
