I read in my history text book today, that during the Weimar political crisis of the early 1930's, it was suggested by then Chancellor Franz von Papen, that he could simply ignore the fact that he'd lost a vote of no confidence and remain Chancellor, using the army to keep himself in power.

So lets say that Hindenburg ignores Schleichers advice and agrees with Papen. There are no Reichstag elections, Papen appoints himself a new cabinet of right-wingers, industrialists, military strong-men and Junkers (but no Nazis, Hindenburg hated them), Hindenburg gives it his blessing and sends the army out to crush the protesters that have begun gathering. Germany is now a authoriatian dictatorship, the thing most feared by the rest of the world. In reaction, workers start striking, paramilitaries start shooting and the extremist parties left out of government look like they're going to start a Civil War.

How does this go down with everyone else, specifically the League of Nations, the Entente powers and the USSR.
