WI: George Washington Air Junction (Virginia) Airport Built

George Washington Air Junction was planned as the world's largest airport in the 1920s. Land for it was purchased in Fairfax County, Virginia, but the proposal never came to fruition due to the onset of the Great Depression. As proposed, George Washington Air Junction would have featured three 7,500 foot long runways, dirigible tethers, and 1,500 to 2,000 acres of land in Hybla Valley, one of the flattest areas of land near Washington, DC.

What if the airport had been completed for military and/or commercial use in the 1930s, perhaps with the government purchasing the land from Henry Woodhouse? How would it fare relative to Washington Dulles International Airport? Could such a large airport lead to Virginia becoming a prominent aviation hub and/or aircraft producer?

The Dulles location might not be built. That was in response to the inability to expand National, so with a large & presumably expandable airport nearby there no need.
