WI George Padapoulos was assasinated in 1968?

On this day, in 1968, the Venizelist MP Aléxandros Panagoúlis attempted an assassination of George Padapoulous during the 1967 junta in Greece. He failed in that attempt, and was thus gaoled by the Junta. However, what if the assassination of George Padapoulos was successful?

"Then Came You"

This is well before George's professional career began, so it's hard to see why someone would assassinate him, but it's your premise, so I'll run with it.
I don't think George had even met Katherine by that time; they certainly weren't married, so she'd probably marry someone else, maybe someone wealthier and closer to her own social class.
Without meeting and befriending George, Mr. Long will choose someone else as the godparent of his son. The Longs might still die in a car accident, but chances are that tragedy is butterflied away, and their son Webster grows up with his birth parents, the happy child of a moderately successful football player.

That's okay. I was referring to a general who was the head of the 1967 Greek military junta until the 1973 Athens Polytechnic uprising, when he was replaced by a more hard-line general.
