WI: George III, Emperor of the British Isles

George II was, at one point, offered the title of Emperor of the British Isles while the Acts of Union, 1800 were being drafted. However, he refused, citing historical precedent he held no desire to tread (it had nothing to do with Napoleon, as he was still First Consul).

Now, what if George III accepted this title, and Britain officially became an empire?

I suspect that very little would change initially.

Possibly the Empire of Britain might absorb the settler colonies as autonomous kingdoms. Irish Home Rule could be adopted sooner, with it becoming a similarly autonomous kingdom, within the Empire itself.

There may not be a title of Emperor/Empress of India ITTL, though it may still be adopted anyway, if India is still taken over by Britain directly.

Then Australia, Canada etc. would be considered Empires today.
