WI: George II of England dies young?

What if George II of England had died as a child sometime shortly after the birth of his sister, Sophia Dorothea? Her parents George I and Sophia Dorothea had an unhappy marriage and divorced in 1694? I assume the younger Sophia would be brought up in England. OTL, she married Frederick William I of Prussia, but I think it would've been more likely that she would marry an Englishman, as the British people despised the Royal Family's German ties. Who could have she married instead? What might her reign be like?

Her reign would no doubt be plagued by Jacobite intrigue (and probably a better showing than the various OTL attempts)

Bear in mind that since George I isn't even king yet and the Act of Succession hasn't barred Catholics and their descendants, and Anne despised him, William and Anne could do a deal with JFES that stops George becoming king anyway.

Excluding Catholics, who would be in line to succeed Anne upon her death if the Hanoverian line looks not as sure?

For that matter, what year is our PoD? It's certainly possible that William, Duke of Gloucester, survives

There's George I's unmarried brother Ernest Augustus who was regent for his brother in the Germanies.
Their sister Sophie Charlotte married Fred I of Prussia and produced FW.
All the others are dead or Catholic.
I suspect conversion back might become allowable depending on politics as the previous Bill of Rights only excluded practicing Catholics not their descendants.

JFES didn't really seem that willing to convert but maybe you can find somebody else

Perhaps if England is realistically in his grasp, daddy dearest might encourage conversion?

what year is it? I doubt James (who already had the country in his grasp) would suddenly flip flop on this issue, and then when he dies JFES is fully in the care/company/court of the Church so that's unlikely (considering he rejected the possibility IOTL and subsequently became a fixture in the Roman/expat social circuit)

Wasn't Ernst August a closet-case gay? I read somewhere that Mme Wallmoden (Georg II's mistress)'s father, was one of Ernie's mignons. Not to mention that Sophia met William at Het Loo before he signed one of the succession acts and tried to persuade Billy in favour of JFES IIRC. Sophia's reasoning was that the time spent in exile would be a good teacher for JFES, and he might not be as bad as James II was/perceived to be.
