Today I was watching a documentary on the war in the pacific and it was mentioned that Vandergrift was a general gifted at training troops and planing good operations, he also served in China between the wars. So if Vandegrift is sent instead of vinegar joe (say he is left in charge of the north African, which I know will have affects). Would he be able to do better and could he equip Chang with an army that could also win the civil war?
