Thanks for your post unclepatrick but there
never would have been any Roddenberry-
Allen clash. My fault, I should have made it
clear when I set up this post but I en-
visoned, in setting up this senario, that Rod-
denberry would have owned LIS the way he
IOTL owned ST. Irwin Allen wouldn't be in
the picture @ all, he'd be off doing other
things(as he was IOTL with THE INVADERS,
VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA, etc.)
Not sure what you POD is.
Since Allen was the person who came up with the idea for Lost in Space.
(Allen had nothing to do with the Invaders.)
But I play along. Somehow Roddenberry Wagon Train to the Stars(His original idea for Star Trek) becomes a show about a family that becomes lost in Space.
I not sure that the scripts will be better. Remember that Roddenberry scripts for Star Trek are some of the worst.
He the mind behind Omega Glory which I always call Star Trek attempt at a Irwin Allen Script.
And he also behind the story for Mudd Women, a episode that work because of the performance of Roger Carmel as Mudd.
The early script for Star Trek were not very scientific. Remember The Enemy Within?
We would have to hope that Gene Coon would agree to come on Lost in Space.
It was Coon who brought in the better scripts for Star Trek.
The issue that I see is rather the Network would want LIS to be a family show or a adult show.
I suspect that with kids as character on the show, there going to be strong pressure to keep the show to be family friendly.
And I have no idea on the casting. My first thought is that Roddenberry original cast for Star Trek first pilot was very different than the show, other then Nimoy and Majel Barrett.
So maybe, We get Nimoy as Dr. Smith and Majel Barrett as the mother.
