WI: Fuhrman admits on the stand to planting evidence?

During the OJ Simpson trial, when Mark Fuhrman is called to the stand to testify, he doesn't take the 5th, but instead admits to planting evidence in previous cases and that he knew that the evidence in the Simpson case was mishandled.

How does this change the trial, and how does this change the perception of OJ and the LAPD after the trial?

OJ gets acquitted harder and faster, and the LAPD is in a bigger world of hurt. Might even lead to some reforms on a larger scale.

Also, it might be enough to keep OJ from being found liable in civil court; I'm not sure how decisive that judgment was.

My bet is that the LAPD gets slapped with the same kind of Consent Decree they would have later gotten from the Rampart Scandal, but sooner.

It'd probably be enough to force the LAPD to shut down the CRASH unit, and thus butterfly away that scandal.

In the event that Fuhrman had admitted on the stand to planting evidence in previous cases and of evidence in the Simpson case being mishandled would lead to extreme repercussions.

How it would effect the Simpson case - O.J.'s acquittal is likely all but a done deal (If the prosecution doesn't attempt to save face by filing a motion to dismiss which is not likely) as it was mentioned in a earlier reply to this thread. It could possibly cost both the Browns and the Goldmans the civil case as it might result in them losing (Also mentioned in the earlier reply).

How it would effect Fuhrman - Fuhrman really ends up shit up the crick for good as this likely leads to every one of his cases being dissected with a microscope and if he didn't retire when he makes that admission on the stand he'll be extremely lucky if he is even allowed any opportunity to retire (He likely just ends up being made a example of and gets fired) and if Fuhrman had perjured himself during the trial anyway he will be looking forward to going to prison anyway in addition to any potential prison time he might end up getting if the District Attorney decides to go after him for planting evidence.

How it would effect the Los Angeles Police Department - The department really ends up in a real extreme world of shit (They will likely find themselves eventually being up to their heads in Lawsuits for the next several years after it all over with) which likely leads to a full scale Federal investigation of the entire department's operations and a multitude of major reforms end up getting forcibly implemented, A Consent Decree being placed on the department (Maybe more stringent and one that likely still remains in effect unlike OTL), Major restructuring in parts of the department, A unknown number of officers end up finding themselves off the force (Likely by Resignations or they get Fired).

Would it butterfly the Rampart Scandal not likely but it's shorter lived (The department ends up being too quick to shutter the CRASH unit the moment such a scandal actually erupts).
