WI French won Battle of Golden Spurs in 1302?

After the Flemish unsuccessfully tried to take Kortrijk on July 9 and July 10, the two forces clashed on 11 July in an open field near the city.
The layout of the field, crossed by numerous ditches and streams, made it difficult for the French Cavalry to charge the Flemish lines. They sent servants to place wood in the streams but did not wait for this to be done. The large French infantry force led the initial attack, which went well, but French commander Count Robert II d' Artois recalled them so that the noble cavalry could claim the victory. Hindered by their own infantry and the tactically sound position of the Flemish militia, the French cavalry were an easy target for the heavily-armed Flemish. When they realized the battle was lost, the surviving French fled, only to be pursued over 10 km by the Flemish.
WI Constable d'Artois didnt recalled the infantry and annihilated the Flemish army? How is that altering History? Any thoughts???

Would this mean that Flanders comes back under French rule? Wouldn't it still be a fief of the HRE though? I could see some conflict arising there.

The victory would probably butterfly away the Dukes of Burgundy, but if they were still to come about (maybe the Capet Burgundians rulers fill a similar role that the Valois Burgundians did in OTL), there could be some conflict with France over Flanders.

Also, wasn't Flanders a trading and textile center? It might make France a lot richer from controlling that trade, although I can't really speculate how it would help (this is not my area of strength).

So France is engaged to war with HRE... Would Edward I had a pretext then to annex Aquitaine to England and renounce King of France as his liege?

Hmm... well, I just realized that at this point the HRE was in the end phase of a sixty-three year interregnum (lasting until Henry VII in 1312). So I don't know if the HRE would have the strength to fight France over Flanders. So the King of France would probably be able to focus on the war against England if Edward did this. Once the wealth from Flanders starts flowing into the French royal domains, the English are going to be hard-pressed to hold of the French.

I thought that all of Flanders was French until the 16th century when Charles V made a deal with France. I could be wrong though.

Flanders was a fief of France and a lordship in the Holy Roman Empire at the same time. It was a de jure possession of France, as it had been since Charlemagne's empire was divided. The deal you are thinking of is when Francis I ceded his claim to Charles V in 1526.
