WI: French Navy in WW3

What was the French Navy's plan to fight against the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact? I understand there was basically an unwritten agreement that if war was to break out the French Navy would help NATO forces in whatever way possible. What would this extend to? Convoy escort (as seen in Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising)? ASW operations? Or a brazen strike against Soviet military forces?

Depending on the year and availability, the significant French striking force would be one carrier battle group. I put the French SSBNs aside as they are a totally different issue. You'd have French air ASW assets working as well as surface and sub ASW going on. You would probably have some French ground units in Germany, and possibly some specialized French units like mountain troops working with NATO in Norway. France would be contributing to air defense, if in no other way than keeping WP forces out of French air space.
