WI: French Fleet escapes Toulon

Ok, so the fleet didn't have much fuel or manpower, but had they made a attempt at breaking out with some of the more modern ships in 1942, would it have been successful? Secondly, had the fleet escaped, what kind of effect would it have on the rest of the war? French pride would have received a boost, as well as the Free French Navy, but what kind of effects would it of had on Free French politics and the struggle between Darlan and De Gaulle?

Also, what kind of changes would have it required to allow it to happen in the first place?

The French in port having enough fuel and crew to manned their ships and a naval commander refusing to yield to the boche and the crew and captains having personal loyalty to him and sail away to North Africa or Gilbrator if the Vichy govt tries to order the fleet that sail away to obey their orders to return home for disarmament and reduce crew and fuel under Nazi supervision....1940.

In 1942... Fuel and crew availability.....

According to Wikipedia, the ships had enough fuel in their tanks to reach north africa. Also, some of the ships were drydock at the time, so their crews could be used to make up numbers.
