WI: Free State of Jones

What if during the Civil War, the ideas and support of the "Free State of Jones" grew throughout the South? Could we see a possible mass scale insurrection against the Confederate government? A possible earlier break of the CSA?

To a large extent it did. There were a number of rebellions in the CSA, Jones County was merely the most famous because it was the most successful.

Could the rebellion possibly reached a point where they essentially won mass support throughout all of Mississippi (and even the CSA)? Could they have linked up with Union troops and basically split the Confederacy?
