WI: Frederick I of Sicily dies before becoming HRE?

IOTL, Frederick Hohenstaufen of Sicily became Holy Roman Emperor in 1216 after his rival, Otto of Brunswick, lost all credibility at the Battle of Bouvines. But what if Frederick had died between, say, 1212 and 1214. Before leaving for Germany, he'd had his infant son, Henry, crowned King of Sicily under the regency of his mother, Constance of Aragon. Apart from having a different King of Sicily and subsequent HRE, what else might have been different without stupor mundi?

Well, some feel that his concentration on Sicily either helped or hindered German ~ unification/consciousness.

Ie, some feel that his neglect engendered a greater sense of 'we'll look after ourselves', which obviously already had some precedent. Others of the time felt the opposite, that the HRE needed a stronger local hand at that time and Frederick's Italian sojourns weakened the Empire. What's hard to know is whether his son would have differed in this respect, or possibly even committed more to Jerusalem. I think he's one of the more interesting people in history, so Of course that means I think his footprint was pretty large, but he was so mercurial and had so many conflicts that it would IMO make differences in many directions. Another off the top of my head is of course his tempestuous relationship with the Papacy, which in many ways set the table for the Italian peninsula as the greatest trophy/battleground of the ME.

I don't see the princes rallying on the 1-3 year old Henry II of Sicily, it was the very reason they didn't choice Frederick in 1197.

They may choice someone else from the Staufer party, like Ottokar I of Bohemia and Louis of Bavaria.
