WI Franco gives Spanish Throne to Alphonse Duke of anjou and Cadiz?

The heir to the throne of Spain following the death of Alphonse XIII was Juan de Bourbon Count of Barcelona, the son of the late Alphonso XIII. However, Franco viewed the heir with extreme suspicion, believing him to be a liberal who was opposed to his regime. Franco then considered giving the throne to Juan Carlos's cousin Alfonso Duc d' Anjou et Cadiz. Alfonso had married Franco's granddaughter in 1972 and was known to be an ardent Francoist.
However in OTL ultimately, Franco decided to skip a generation and name Prince Juan Carlos as his personal successor. Franco hoped the young Prince could be groomed to take over the nation while still maintaining the ultraconservative nature of his regime.
WI Franco had named Alphonse as his heir and in 1975 he ascends the Throne as King Alphonso XIV?
How is that altering History? Any thoughts?

Franco wouldn't think of giving the throne to what was basically a french prince. Alfonso was not considered a part of the spanish Bourbons because his mother was not a royal-born princess and Alfonso XIII had always refused to consider that branch of the family as proper spanish royals; so he was only recognized as a french heir to the Bourbon family. Since Franco's regime propaganda had always said that one of the causes of the Empire' downfall had been the adoption of "foreigner" kings like Philip V, him giving the throne to yet another french prince would have been... embarrassing.
