It could butterfly away the American revolution, but it would be more interesting if it merely butterflied away French involvement in said revolution.

And even more interesting: still a revolution, and still a success,

the first one is unlikely (as the colonist would see the use of their taxes in the troops needed to fend of the French) but may be possible, if London abuses the colonies enough. The seocnd is just plain ASB; no french involvment means the revolt dissolves for lack of funds and supplies.
 
American Revolution completely butterflied.Sure the Americans will grumble about having to return New France to the French,having a standing army posted in the colonies and that they have to pay taxes without representation,but a French army at the border will make sure they pay taxes to the King obediently.

Not necessarily. If Britain gains control of the regions south of the Great Lakes, then many Americans will no longer be living anywhere near French territory, and may no longer feel threatened. It could be that the Revolution still happens but perhaps there are fewer than 13 colonies involved.
