WI: Ferdinand of Aragon dies before marrying Isabella of Castile

From what I gather, if Ferdinand of Aragon dies earlier, his heir would be his nephew, Francis Phoebus of Foix would be the next heir by primogeniture while the heir of Ferdinand of Aragon by agnatic would be Infante Henry of Aragon, the son of Infante Henry, duke of Villena.

-The Foix succession will be problematic because Louis the Spider of France might use Nicholas of Anjou AGAINST Francis Phoebus due to the Foix fiefs in France that are pushed into Personal union with Aragon and it annuls the treaty of Corbeil.

For Isabella of Castille the original plan to marry her to Afonso V might push through or rather she will marry Nicholas of Anjou and the original plan of marrying Joanna of Castile and John of Portugal might push through.

That's interesting. In that scenario I could see a united Iberian peninsula much earlier since the obvious choice for any heir of Isabella and Afonso would be heir of Aragon. The age difference would also give her a long time to reign in her own right, both in Castille where she remains queen but in Portugal where she presumably rules a regent for whatever children there are.

I also wonder if the Hapsburgs would be able to get their foot in the door this time since a dynasty that rules all of Iberia would have less need for Hapsburg influence (and the Spanish didn't particularly like them to begin with).

If Isabella marries Afonso V, John of Portugal marries Joanna la Beltraneja, meaning it is Joanna la Beltraneja ruling Castile while John rules Portugal and their son inherit everything.
