WI Fall Grün?

There was a good TL on it, but it was Germany, Hungary, and Poland (the latter barely) against Czechoslovakia and the USSR.

what if Hitler does not hold the munich conference and goes on with Fall Grün? what are their chances against the good defensive line? (i believe they had quite a big, well - trained army too, but i'm not sure) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Czechoslovak_border_fortifications

it is only the wehrmacht against the Czechoslovaks, no allies involved.

Hitler gets his dumb ass overthrown by the Wehrmacht and is replaced by a conservative military junta? The Wehrmacht was against Case Green to the point of paranoia, with very good reasons ... the army wasn't ready to fight Czechoslovakia, let alone anyone else who was likely to join in.

I mean, it almost happened OTL, only being avoided by the Britain and France caving in before Hitler's ultimatum went out.

If you mean a situation where no-one wants to side with the Czechs and the Germans have a free hand (by, say, the Czechs refusing to accede to Munich) and the army doesn't pull anything ... it's still not going to be fun. The Sudetenland fortifications were quite good and the Czech army was one of the better ones out there at the time. Not to mention that the Wehrmacht is nowhere near ready for war.

All in all, it's a bad move, unlikely to get the Germans anywhere fast. A slow slog, rather than a fast victory ... provided it even goes through and Hitler isn't overthrown.

IF Hitler is not overthrown.
IF the western allies publically delcare they will do NOTHING.
IF Poland and Hungary stays out.
IF the Soviets stay out (they had an alliance with Czechoslovakia).
IF it is only the Czechoslovaks and the Germans, and both are determined;

Then the Germans win. After some time, and lots of casualties. The Czechoslovaks had a very good army, good industry and good fortifications. However, they are surrounded by Germany from Schlesien to Austria. They have less population and less resources. Their air force is smaller and are not using advanced tactics (not that the Germans are either, the best and brightest of the Luftwaffe is still developing Rotten/Schwarm tactics in Spain).

As Adler pointed out, the chances for Fall Grün going through with only Germany vs. Czechoslovakia are... slim, to say the least. If it does, though, Germany will ultimately win, but at a comparatively high price. Hitler certainly won't develop the personality cult he did after the Fall of France, be it with the military or the populace. Chance are he (and probably most of the Nazi leadership with him) would be removed from office at some point, and replaced by a military-industrial junta of some kind.
The aftermath would certainly be interesting, though, to say the least.
