WI: Empress Matilda imprisoned and put to a nunnery

I remember that Eleanor of Brittany and Arabella were imprisoned, what if Stephen of Blois forces Empress Matilda to go to a nunnery, what would happen?

She wouldn't go. Half of her opposition resulted from the fact that she wasn't a meek woman that would give in to what a man, any man would tell her. If the made her go she'd escape somehow. She was good at escaping.

He was never really in a position to do so. She had captured him at one point before exchanging him for her brother, but he never truly had her in his power.

After years of conflict, she eventually turned her focus more to Normandy (than England) and issues there. Later, she encouraged/supported her son's (Henry II) expedition to England, which eventually resulted in Henry recognizing Stephen as king, but Stephen recognizing Henry as his son and heir.

Arugably he was almost in a position to do so, more than once. When she arrived in England she was promptly beseiged in Arundel Castle by Stephen she was released under a truce. She was with Robert of Glouchester before his capture, in Wincheste, but escaped.

Impossible. While both Eleanor and Arabella were unmarried (and both King John and King James being in one case the uncle and in the other the first cousin of the woman can claimed to be also their legal tutor) Matilda was married (and her husband alive) and so Stephen was not in the position to force Matilda to enter in a nunnery and in any case Matilda had two legitimate sons who are heirs of her claim.

What about delaying the return of Empress Matilda to england and it happens after the death of Henry I of England and have the throne of England usurped by Stephen of Blois.

You probably end with something similar to how things ended in OTL then, Normandy and the crown's French holdings being governed more or less securely by Matilda, and England proper being Stephen's.

How?With her husband living a few more years? She might have got a few more children by him.

Kill Henry I before Matilda marries Geoffrey and she gets imprisoned by Stephen of Blois.

In that scenario, she likely gets crowned. One of the problems she faced was that she wasn't at England at the time of her father's death.Stephen seines power during the power vacuum.
